The latest issue of Miracle Magazine - and my last as Head Poetry Editor - is out now and has the theme of Rebirth.

I have enjoyed being part of the Miracle creative writing team for the last four years and am proud of all we have achieved. I have made some great friends who I know I will stay in touch with.

I hope you enjoy the issue.

Introducing Foxglove Journal!

 Hello!

I have some exciting news: I've started my own literary magazine! It is called Foxglove Journal, and will showcase excellent poetry and short/flash fiction.

It currently features one of my poems, "Map logic", as well as two other pieces of work from gifted writers. There is plenty more to come!

Please pop over and have a look at it, and do consider sending me some writing!

Hopefully this will be a wonderful journey.

MLF15: Kirmen Uribe and Jesús Carrasco

 Hello!

Jesús, Mariana - the hostess and translator - and Kirmen. Photo by Jon Parker Lee

I'm very happy to be involved with Manchester Literature Festival for a third year. My first event was hearing Kirmen Uribe and Jesús Carrasco read at the Instituto Cervantes.

Kirmen writes in Basque and Jesús in Castilian, so for me as a linguist it was a fascinating experience.

I hope you enjoy my account of the event, which has been published on the Festival's Chapter and Verse blog.
