December was an interesting month for me, as I started it in Avignon, France, before coming home to the North of England for the first time since September. Writing-wise I enjoyed some achievements and milestones - let's dive right in.
Firstly, I was published in several magazines. My poem "Ink dragons" appeared in Siblíní Journal and my fiction piece "Immanuel" was published in Visual Verse. I had the honour of being the author of the first piece ever to appear in new magazine 404 Ink - my story "How not to stargaze" was the first item in Issue 1. I also have a fiction piece, "Henry", in Issue 8.1 of Gigantic Sequins, due out in January.
One very special thing was being asked to write a piece for the wedding of one of Visual Verse's staff. I shared the resulting poem, "Ether", on this blog with their blessing. I hope you enjoy it, too.
I hit a milestone on my travel blog, Neither Here Nor There: 50,000 page views! I have since reached 55,000. It's amazing to think that so many people have read my words and seen my photos. Thank you for sharing my journeys, from France to Spain and beyond.
Another milestone was that my literary magazine, Foxglove Journal, celebrated two months of existence. I've had the joy of showcasing some excellent pieces of work and I look forward to sharing many more. Please consider submitting some poetry or fiction for our consideration.
December was an interesting month, finished by a lovely Christmas and New Year with my family. Here's to a positive and creative 2017.
Thanks for reading.
